• What is Application Letter?

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, application letter is a letter that you write to a company when you are applying for a job. A job application letter is a letter written to a company when someone applies for a job.

• What is Purpose of Application Letter?

According to Colorado State University, its main objective is to get the applicant in the door for an interview and must be written well enough to attract the attention and interest of the person with the power to recommend or grant one. The main purpose of the application letter is to give the applicant an opportunity for an interview, it must be written well enough to attract the attention and interest of the person authorized to recommend or grant it.

• What is Struture of Application Letter?

1. Header (Contact Information)

In the header section, parties need to write information or contact where the company can contact them. 

Example:  

Annisa Putri 

Ciledug, Jakarta, (postal code) | (phone number )| (email)

2. Salutation (Greetings)

Greetings are very important to show respect. If you know the name of the HRD or personnel, then include the name. If not, use Hiring Manager or something similar. Example: Dear Hiring Manager Dear Mr./Mrs./Ms. …

3. The Body 

In this section, it is important to indicate the intent of writing the letter and the qualifications of the applicant. Applicants write down qualifications, experience, and work motivation so that the company considers applicants to be job candidates.

4. Closing 

The cover used on the cover letter must be professional. Applicants may use one of the following covers: Best Regards Sincerely Yours sincerely Regards

5. Signature

It is important to put a signature at the end of the letter. If it is handwritten, applicants can sign manually.
